EndureGo principal, John Chen, FCPA, is proud to be known by his clients as “resourceful, professional, and down to earth”. Those key attributes and drives have been the foundation of his professional career since 1998, a professional career built upon high level of professionalism, and an ability to deliver exceptional result and high ethical standard.
John is a full practicing member of CPA Australia, who attained fellowship status in 2011. He is also an ASIC registered agent and a registered tax agent. In 2010 John became a fellow of The Tax Institute of Australia. In 2016 John became a Justice of Peace.
John has over 25 years of industry experience in accounting, tax and finance. In his work prior to launching EndureGo, John has been a senior accounting and finance advisor to several globally listed companies. Among his early appointments are finance and accounting at Macquarie University, Bank of China (Australia), Qantas Staff Credit Union and EFIC and Santos Ltd.
John is a graduate of Macquarie University with degree a in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) and an Honours degree in Quantitative Finance of Credit Risk Rating. He has the academic distinction of having received several scholarships from the Professional Accounting Body of CPA, Australia and Macquarie University. The culmination of John’s academic training was a government scholarship for PhD at University of New South Wales (topic of research: Option Pricing).
During his PhD study John worked as an accountant for a trading company. After graduation, he worked as a senior credit analyst in the Risk Management Department of Bank of China (Australia). Following this, John was appointed Senior Financial Analyst at Qantas Staff Credit Union. John has also worked as a Risk Manager in the Export Credit Agency under the Department of Foreign Affair (EFIC)
John worked for the global oil Company, Santos. It was during this time John felt his entrepreneurial instincts and accountancy knowledge could be put to better use and in 2006 launched EndureGo.

CPA Australia bestowed John with a Fellow of CPA in 2010 and also in 2010 was awarded a Fellowship by the Institute of Taxation Australia. In 2016 John became a Justice of the Peace.
In his spare time John likes to play tennis and golf. It’s widely understood that John is a better accountant than he is an athlete (don’t mention his handicap).
